Taxonomic Literature: Printzen, C., Holien, H. & Etayo, J. 1998. Two new Biatora species from Western Norway and Madeira. Lichenologist 30(3): 213-219.

Ecology: Lignicolous or corticolous.

Thallus: Crustose, not subdivided parts, rimose. Thallus Outline: Soon disappearing or persistent. Upper Surface: Light green; not sorediate.

Margin: Mostly not flexuose, indistinct. Exciple: Aeruginose (blue green only near hymenium) or white. Epithecium: Apical cells hyaline. Hymenium: (35)-45-50-60 µm high. Hypothecium: White.

Ascospores: Ellipsoid, (9)-10.8-15-(18.5) µm long, (3)-3.6-4.5-(5) µm wide; septa absent or present (rarely 1-3-septate); 0-(3)-transversally septate; wall not constricted where the septum meets the spore wall.

Conidia: Bacilliform; (6.5)-(9) µm long.

Secondary Metabolites: Argopsin or norargopsin (minor).
