Ecology: Growing sun-exposed; under conditions which are dry or moist.

Thallus: Crustose; branches densely aggregated or caespitose. Primary Thallus: Evanescent. Secondary Thallus: Present, of indeterminate growth; stipe 40-90 mm high, .7-1.3-(1.8) mm wide, grey (or yellowish- to greenish white), tainted brown, with intact or perforated wall, 20-40 µm thick. Upper Surface: Verruculose or areolated (with patches of outer medulla distributed over a transluscent inner medullary surface, even close to the podetial tips), byssoid.

Ascocarps: Forming apical at the tip of branches or stipes, moderately abundant, .3-.5 mm in diam.. Disk: Plane to weakly convex; pale brown.

Conidiomata: Formed on podetia.

Pycnidia: With hyaline ostiolar gel.

Secondary Metabolites: Perlatolic acid.

Spot Tests: Upper surface: K – (negative), C –, PD –.

UV-Fluorescence: Reaction colour: bright bluish white (in part).
