Ecology: Biotroph; phytopathogenic; growing on leaves, amphigenous. Host or Phorophyte Taxonomy: Nothofagus antarctica var. bicrenata Macloskie; Nothofagus, Fagaceae.

Reproduction Strategy: With sexual (and possible asexual) stages. Ascocarps: Cleistothecioid, orbicular, forming independently from the host thallus or mycelium, scattered or in loose groups, .07-.105 mm in diam.. Margin: External filaments present (usually shorter than the cleistothecial diam. or about as long as the diam., upper part spirally twisted, ca. 3-8 turns, tips coiled, enlarged); helicoid, .8-1 µm long, 5-8-(10) µm in diameter, hyaline or pigmented (brown from the base to the helicoid part, paler or hyaline towards the tip), few, 5-15 per mm², growing between the lower and upper hald of the ascocarp, stiff and straight, smooth or faintly rough, thin or thick (towards the base), not ramified, aseptate or septate (0-1-septate).

Asci: 4-9 asci per ascocarp, not stipitate or indistinctly stipitate, 45-55 µm long, 35-45 µm wide; dehiscence unitunicate.

Ascospores: c. 8 per ascus, spores 6-8 per ascus, ellipsoid or ovoid, 18-23 µm long, 10-13 µm wide; septa absent.

Conidiomata: Present; hyphomycetous.

Conidiophores: Pseudoidium-type; not branched. Conidium Formation: Conidiogenous cells single. Conidia: Cylindrical; macroconidial, not branched, 25-32 µm long, 10-15 µm wide; aseptate.
