Reproduction Strategy: With sexual (and possible asexual) stages. Ascocarps: Cleistothecioid, orbicular, forming independently from the host thallus or mycelium, not emerging (often, in the mycelium), gregarious or in loose groups, .15-.25 mm in diam.. Margin: External filaments present (poorly developed, very short, often rudimentary); mycelioid, 4-10 µm in diameter, hyaline or slightly pigmented, growing all across the lower half of the ascocarp, smooth or rough, not ramified or ramified (irregularly branched), not branched, septate.

Asci: At least 20 asci per ascocarp, distinctly stipitate, 70-100-(140) µm long, (30)-35-45-(50) µm wide; dehiscence unitunicate.

Ascospores: 1–2 per ascus, spores 2 per ascus, ellipsoid or ovoid, (20)-25-40-(50) µm long, 15-25-(30) µm wide; septa absent.

Conidiomata: Present; hyphomycetous.

Conidiophores: Not branched. Conidia: More or less cylindrical (with cingulum-like rings near the ends); macroconidial, not branched, 40-70 µm long, 13-25 µm wide; aseptate.
