Biogeography: Continent: Southern America (Argentina, Chile).

Ecology: Biotroph; phytopathogenic; growing on leaves, hypophyllous (mostly) or amphigenous. Host or Phorophyte Taxonomy: Ribes magellanicum Poir.; Ribes, Grossulariaceae and Proteaceae.

Reproduction Strategy: With sexual (and possible asexual) stages. Ascocarps: Cleistothecioid, orbicular, forming independently from the host thallus or mycelium, scattered or in loose groups, .17-.265 mm in diam.. Margin: External filaments present (bulbous base ca. 40-60 µm diam., penicillate cells large, long and slender, up to 100 µm in length, richly branched); not interlaced, straight, 1-2 µm long, few, 5-12 per mm², growing between the lower and upper hald of the ascocarp, stiff and straight, not ramified, septate.

Asci: 15-30 asci per ascocarp, distinctly stipitate, 70-110 µm long, 30-45 µm wide; dehiscence unitunicate.

Ascospores: 1–2 per ascus, spores 2 per ascus, ellipsoid or ovoid, 28-50 µm long, 18-24 µm wide; septa absent.

Conidiomata: Present; hyphomycetous.

Conidiophores: Ovulariopsis-type; not branched. Conidium Formation: Conidiogenous cells single. Conidia: More or less clavate; macroconidial, not branched, 60-70 µm long, 16-24 µm wide; aseptate.
