Reproduction Strategy: With sexual (and possible asexual) stages. Ascocarps: Cleistothecioid, orbicular, forming independently from the host thallus or mycelium, scattered, (.16)-.2-.25-(.31) mm in diam.. Margin: External filaments present (branchlets narrowed upwards); uncinate or circinate (close), .3-.5 µm long, 6-9-(11) µm in diameter, hyaline, numerous, 100-250 per mm², growing on the upper half of the ascocarp, stiff and straight, smooth or rough, thick, ramified, dichotomously branched ((1-)2-3 times, deeply cleft, branched from the middle of the stalk upwards or sometimes even in the lower half), aseptate.

Asci: 14-38 asci per ascocarp, indistinctly stipitate, (60)-75-110 µm long, 40-60 µm wide; dehiscence unitunicate.

Ascospores: c. 8 per ascus, spores 6-8 per ascus, ellipsoid or ovoid, 18-26.5 µm long, 12.5-18 µm wide; septa absent.
