Thallus: Crustose, not subdivided parts. Upper Surface: Grey or brownish yellow; special structures absent. Lower Surface: Attached by the whole lower surface; special structures absent.

Reproduction Strategy: Only known as sterile, asexually reproducing form or with sexual (and possible asexual) stages. Ascocarps: Apothecioid, orbicular or linear, forming all across the thallus surface, not emerging, becoming adnate. Margin: Indistinct to distinct; external filaments absent. Exciple: Black or white. Periphyses: Absent. Epithecium: Apical cells black or hyaline. Hymenium: Iodine reaction: Lugol’s negative, not hemiamyloid. Interascal Hyphae: Present?, scarcely branched, not or scarcely anastomosed. Hypothecium: Black or white.

Asci: Tholus thickened, not amyloid; exoascus not amyloid, not hemiamyloid.

Ascospores: c. 8 per ascus, ellipsoid, 50-180 µm long, 8-29 µm wide, obtuse; septa present; transversally septate or both transversally and longitudinally, 10-35-transversally septate; wall thin, not thickened at the septum, hyaline, in Lugol's Solution negative, wall not ornamented.

Conidiomata: Absent resp. not observed or present; pycnidial; immersed.

Conidia: Globose.

Secondary Metabolites: Not detected.
