Hymenium: Iodine reaction: Lugol’s negative, hemiamyloid. Interascal Hyphae: Present, scarcely branched to distinctly branched, not or scarcely anastomosed. Hypothecium: Black, brown, white, or brownish yellow.

Asci: Tholus thickened, not amyloid; dehiscence verrucarial; exoascus not amyloid, hemiamyloid.

Ascospores: c. 8 per ascus, broadly ellipsoid, ellipsoid, or ovoid, 11-21 µm long, 6-13 µm wide, obtuse; septa absent or present; transversally septate, 0-1-transversally septate; wall thin, not thickened at the septum, dark brown, in Lugol's Solution negative, wall not ornamented or ornamented.

Conidiomata: Absent resp. not observed or present.
