Ecology: Biotroph; lichenized; terricolous; substrate non-calciferous or calciferous.

Lichen Photobionts: Primary photobiont present; chlorococcal. Secondary photobiont absent.

Thallus: Crustose, not subdivided parts, squamulose or rimose. Thallus Outline: Soon disappearing. Upper Surface: Brown or brownish yellow; special structures absent. Lower Surface: Attached by holdfasts; special structures present:; not pseudocyphellate; not cyphellate; rhizinate; without thalloconidia thalloconidia; not cavernulate; tomentose.

Medulla: Iodine reaction in Lugol's solution negative; not different with or without KOH pre-treatment (euamyloid).

Reproduction Strategy: Only known as sterile, asexually reproducing form or with sexual (and possible asexual) stages. Ascocarps: Apothecioid, orbicular, forming all across the thallus surface or directly at the thallus margin, soon sessile to substipitate. Margin: Indistinct to distinct; external filaments absent. Exciple: White or brownish yellow. Periphyses: Absent. Epithecium: Apical cells brown. Hymenium: Iodine reaction: Lugol’s negative, not hemiamyloid. Interascal Hyphae: Present, scarcely branched, not or scarcely anastomosed. Hypothecium: White or brownish yellow.

Asci: Tholus thickened, not amyloid or amyloid, with amyloid cap or tube and flanks; dehiscence lecanoralean; exoascus euamyloid, not hemiamyloid.

Ascospores: c. 8 per ascus, broadly ellipsoid or globose, 7-11 µm long, 6-10 µm wide, obtuse; septa absent; wall thin, not thickened at the septum, hyaline, in Lugol's Solution negative, wall not ornamented.

Conidiomata: Absent resp. not observed or present; pycnidial; sessile, formed all accross the thallus surface.

Conidiogeneous Cells: Intercalar. Conidia: Bacilliform.

Secondary Metabolites: Present, of the following substance class(es): benzyl esters.
