Margin: Prominent; external filaments absent. Exciple: Black or brown. Periphyses: Present. Hymenium: Iodine reaction: Lugol’s negative, not hemiamyloid. Interascal Hyphae: Absent. Hypothecium: Black or brown.

Asci: Tholus not thickened or thickened, not amyloid; ocular chamber broad; dehiscence unitunicate; exoascus not amyloid, not hemiamyloid.

Ascospores: 1–2 per ascus, ellipsoid, oblong, or slightly curved, 30-40 µm long, 10-13 µm wide, aciculate; septa absent; wall thick (with filiform appendix at each spore pol), distinctly differentiated into primary and secondary wall (with filiform appendix at each spore pol), not thickened at the septum, hyaline, in Lugol's Solution negative, wall not ornamented (with filiform appendix at each spore pol).

Conidiomata: Absent resp. not observed.
