Ascocarps: Apothecioid, orbicular, forming all across the thallus surface or directly at the thallus margin, soon sessile to substipitate. Margin: Prominent; external filaments absent. Exciple: Black. Periphyses: Absent. Epithecium: Apical cells brown. Interascal Hyphae: Present, scarcely branched, not or scarcely anastomosed. Hypothecium: Black.

Asci: Tholus thickened, amyloid, with amyloid cap; dehiscence lecanoralean; exoascus euamyloid.

Ascospores: c. 8 per ascus, ellipsoid, 1 µm long, 1 µm wide, obtuse; septa absent; wall thick, distinctly differentiated into primary and secondary wall, not thickened at the septum, hyaline, in Lugol's Solution negative, wall not ornamented or ornamented.

Conidiomata: Absent resp. not observed or present; pycnidial; immersed or stipitate.

Conidia: Globose.

Secondary Metabolites: Not detected or present, of the following substance class(es): ß-orcinol depsidones and (anthra-)quinones.
