Ascocarps: Apothecioid, orbicular or irregular, not emerging, becoming adnate to soon sessile. Margin: Prominent; external filaments absent. Exciple: Brown or brownish yellow. Periphyses: Absent. Epithecium: Apical cells brown. Hymenium: Iodine reaction: Lugol’s negative, not hemiamyloid. Interascal Hyphae: Present, scarcely branched, not or scarcely anastomosed. Hypothecium: White or brownish yellow.

Asci: Tholus thickened, not amyloid; dehiscence unitunicate; exoascus not amyloid, not hemiamyloid.

Ascospores: c. 8 per ascus, globose or ovoid, 6.5-9.5 µm long, 5-7 µm wide, obtuse; septa absent; wall thin, not thickened at the septum, hyaline, in Lugol's Solution negative, wall not ornamented or ornamented.

Conidiomata: Absent resp. not observed or present.
