Epithecium: Apical cells brown. Hymenium: Iodine reaction: Lugol’s negative, not hemiamyloid. Interascal Hyphae: Present, scarcely branched, not or scarcely anastomosed. Hypothecium: Brown, white, or brownish yellow.

Asci: Tholus thickened, not amyloid; exoascus not amyloid, not hemiamyloid.

Ascospores: c. 4 to c. 8 per ascus, ellipsoid, fusiform, or oblong, 14-70 µm long, 7-11 µm wide, obtuse or aciculate; septa present; transversally septate, 4-12-transversally septate, formed by the endospore wall layer; wall not thickened at the septum, hyaline, in Lugol's Solution negative.

Conidiomata: Absent resp. not observed or present.
