Ascocarps: Apothecioid, orbicular, forming all across the thallus surface, not emerging, becoming adnate to soon sessile. Margin: Prominent; external filaments absent. Exciple: Brown, red, white, brownish yellow, or orange. Periphyses: Absent. Epithecium: Apical cells brown, red, olive, or brownish yellow. Hymenium: Iodine reaction: not hemiamyloid. Interascal Hyphae: Present, scarcely branched to distinctly branched, distinctly anastomosed. Hypothecium: White.

Asci: Tholus not amyloid; ocular chamber indistinct; dehiscence unitunicate; exoascus not amyloid, not hemiamyloid.

Ascospores: 1–2 to c. 8 or more than 32 per ascus, globose (subspheric), broadly ellipsoid, ellipsoid, ovoid, clavate, or oblong, 4-100 µm long, 2-45 µm wide, obtuse or aciculate; septa absent or present; transversally septate or both transversally and longitudinally, 0-20-transversally septate, formed by the proper spore wall; wall thin or thick, distinctly differentiated into primary and secondary wall, not thickened at the septum, hyaline or pale brown, in Lugol's Solution negative, wall not ornamented.

Conidiomata: Absent resp. not observed or present; hyphophorous.

Conidia: Fusiform or bacilliform; branched; septate.

Secondary Metabolites: Not detected.
