Thallus: Indistinct or crustose, not subdivided parts. Upper Surface: Brownish yellow; special structures absent. Lower Surface: Attached by the whole lower surface.

Reproduction Strategy: Only known as sterile, asexually reproducing form or with sexual (and possible asexual) stages. Ascocarps: Apothecioid, orbicular, forming all across the thallus surface, soon sessile to substipitate. Margin: Distinct to prominent; external filaments absent. Exciple: Black. Periphyses: Absent. Epithecium: Apical cells black. Hymenium: Iodine reaction: Lugol’s negative, not hemiamyloid. Interascal Hyphae: Present, scarcely branched, not or scarcely anastomosed. Hypothecium: Black.

Asci: Tholus thickened, not amyloid; exoascus not amyloid, not hemiamyloid.

Ascospores: c. 8 per ascus, ellipsoid, 33-48 µm long, 13-16 µm wide, obtuse; septa present; both transversally and longitudinally, 8-10-transversally septate, formed by the endospore wall layer; wall thin or thick, distinctly differentiated into primary and secondary wall, not thickened at the septum, hyaline, in Lugol's Solution negative, wall not ornamented.

Conidiomata: Absent resp. not observed or present; pycnidial; immersed.

Conidia: Globose.

Secondary Metabolites: Not detected.
