Thallus: Indistinct or crustose, not subdivided parts. Upper Surface: Green, grey, or brownish yellow; special structures absent. Lower Surface: Attached by the whole lower surface; special structures absent.

Reproduction Strategy: Only known as sterile, asexually reproducing form or with sexual (and possible asexual) stages. Ascocarps: Orbicular, forming all across the thallus surface. Wall: With a carbonized black clypeus around the ostiole, not fused. Margin: External filaments absent. Exciple: White. Periphyses: Absent. Hymenium: Mazaedioid. Interascal Hyphae: Present, scarcely branched, not or scarcely anastomosed. Hypothecium: White.

Asci: Tholus thickened, not amyloid; ocular chamber indistinct; dehiscence bitunicate.

Ascospores: c. 8 per ascus, ellipsoid or broadly ellipsoid, 6-10 µm long, 4-7 µm wide, obtuse; septa present; both transversally and longitudinally, 1-transversally septate, formed by the endospore wall layer; wall thin, not thickened at the septum, dark brown, in Lugol's Solution negative, wall not ornamented.

Conidiomata: Present or absent resp. not observed.

Secondary Metabolites: Present, of the following substance class(es): (anthra-)quinones and xanthones.
