Upper Surface: Brown or grey to brownish yellow to white; special structures absent to present:; not pseudocyphellate; eciliate; without hairs; not isidate; not sorediate to sorediate; not cephalodiate; not lobulate; without granules granules, without thalloconidia to with thalloconidia thalloconidia. Medulla: Iodine reaction in Lugol's solution negative; not different with or without KOH pre-treatment (euamyloid).

Reproduction Strategy: Only known as sterile, asexually reproducing form to with sexual (and possible asexual) stages. Ascocarps: Apothecioid, orbicular, forming all across the thallus surface, not emerging, becoming adnate to soon sessile. Margin: Distinct to prominent; external filaments absent. Exciple: Brown to white to brownish yellow to violet. Periphyses: Absent. Epithecium: Apical cells brown to green to olive. Hymenium: Iodine reaction: Lugol’s negative to Lugol’s positive, not hemiamyloid. Interascal Hyphae: Present, scarcely branched, not or scarcely anastomosed. Hypothecium: Brown to white to brownish yellow to violet.

Asci: Tholus thickened, amyloid, with non-amyloid wide axial body and divergent amyloid flanks towards apex; dehiscence lecanoralean; exoascus not amyloid to euamyloid, not hemiamyloid to hemiamyloid.

Ascospores: c. 8 per ascus, ellipsoid, 7.5-17 µm long, 3.5-8 µm wide, obtuse; septa absent; wall thin, not thickened at the septum, hyaline, in Lugol's Solution negative, wall not ornamented.

Conidiomata: Absent resp. not observed to present; pycnidial; immersed, formed all accross the thallus surface.

Conidia: Filiform.

Secondary Metabolites: Present, of the following substance class(es): orcinol depsides to orcinol depsidones to ß-orcinol depsides to ß-orcinol depsidones.
