Reproduction Strategy: Only known as sterile, asexually reproducing form or with sexual (and possible asexual) stages. Ascocarps: Apothecioid, orbicular, soon sessile. Margin: Prominent; external filaments absent. Exciple: Black or brown. Periphyses: Absent. Epithecium: Apical cells black or brown. Hymenium: Iodine reaction: Lugol’s negative, hemiamyloid. Interascal Hyphae: Present, distinctly branched, distinctly anastomosed. Hypothecium: Brown or brownish yellow.

Asci: Tholus thickened, not amyloid; ocular chamber indistinct; dehiscence lecanoralean; exoascus not amyloid, not hemiamyloid.

Ascospores: 12-16 to 16-32 per ascus, globose (stellate), 7-10 µm long, 7-10 µm wide; septa absent; wall thin, not thickened at the septum, hyaline or pale brown, in Lugol's Solution negative, wall not ornamented.

Conidiomata: Absent resp. not observed.

Secondary Metabolites: Not detected.
