Thallus: Crustose, not subdivided parts, granular, rimose, or areolate (primarily areolate). Upper Surface: Grey or white; special structures absent. Lower Surface: Attached by the whole lower surface; special structures absent.

Reproduction Strategy: Only known as sterile, asexually reproducing form or with sexual (and possible asexual) stages. Ascocarps: Apothecioid, orbicular or linear, forming all across the thallus surface, soon sessile. Margin: Prominent; external filaments absent. Exciple: Black or brown. Periphyses: Absent. Epithecium: Apical cells brown, green, grey, brownish yellow, or olive. Interascal Hyphae: Present, scarcely branched, not or scarcely anastomosed. Hypothecium: Black or brown.

Asci: Tholus thickened, amyloid, with amyloid cap; dehiscence lecanoralean.

Ascospores: c. 8 per ascus, ellipsoid, oblong, or oblong-obtuse, 15-23 µm long, 8-12 µm wide, obtuse; septa present; transversally septate, 1-transversally septate; wall thick, distinctly differentiated into primary and secondary wall, not thickened at the septum, hyaline, pale brown, or dark brown, in Lugol's Solution negative, wall not ornamented.

Conidiomata: Absent resp. not observed or present.

Secondary Metabolites: Not detected.
