Ascocarps: Apothecioid, orbicular, forming all across the thallus surface, soon sessile, stromatic. Margin: Indistinct to distinct; external filaments absent. Exciple: Black or brown. Epithecium: Apical cells hyaline. Interascal Hyphae: Present, distinctly branched, not or scarcely anastomosed. Hypothecium: Black or brown.

Asci: Dehiscence bitunicate.

Ascospores: c. 8 per ascus, fusiform, (43)-45-69-(72) µm long, 3-4 µm wide; septa present; transversally septate, 6-13-transversally septate; wall thin, not thickened at the septum, hyaline, in Lugol's Solution negative, wall not ornamented.

Conidiomata: Absent resp. not observed or present; pycnidial; stipitate, formed all accross the thallus surface.

Conidiogeneous Cells: Apical. Conidia: Bacilliform.

Secondary Metabolites: Present, of the following substance class(es): ß-orcinol depsides and (anthra-)quinones.
