Interascal Hyphae: Absent or present. Hypothecium: Black or brown.

Asci: Tholus thickened, not amyloid or amyloid, with amyloid tube; ocular chamber broad; dehiscence bitunicate; exoascus not amyloid or euamyloid, not hemiamyloid.

Ascospores: c. 8 per ascus, ellipsoid or ovoid, 6-19 µm long, 1.5-7 µm wide, obtuse or aciculate; septa present; transversally septate, 1-transversally septate, formed by the proper spore wall; wall thin, not thickened at the septum, laterally constricted where the septum meets the spore wall, hyaline, pale brown, or dark brown, in Lugol's Solution negative, wall not ornamented.

Conidiomata: Absent resp. not observed.
