Ecology: Biotroph; lichenized; bryophytic or corticolous.

Lichen Photobionts: Primary photobiont present; trentepohlioid. Primary photobiont taxonomy: Trentepohlia (A. Beck 22-05-97); Trentepohliaceae; Trentepohliales. Secondary photobiont absent.

Thallus: Crustose, not subdivided parts, leprose. Upper Surface: Grey, white, or yellow; special structures absent. Lower Surface: Attached by the whole lower surface; special structures absent.

Reproduction Strategy: Only known as sterile, asexually reproducing form or with sexual (and possible asexual) stages. Ascocarps: Apothecioid, orbicular, forming all across the thallus surface or directly at the thallus margin.

Ascospores: c. 8 per ascus, fusiform, 22-34 µm long, 3-8 µm wide; septa present; transversally septate, 5-7-transversally septate; wall thin, not thickened at the septum, hyaline, in Lugol's Solution negative, wall not ornamented.

Conidiomata: Absent resp. not observed or present.

Secondary Metabolites: Not detected or present, of the following substance class(es): dibenzofurans [and usnic acids].
