Reproduction Strategy: Only known as sterile, asexually reproducing form or with sexual (and possible asexual) stages. Ascocarps: Perithecioid, orbicular, not emerging, stromatic. Margin: Indistinct; external filaments absent. Exciple: Brown, white, or brownish yellow. Periphyses: Present. Hymenium: Iodine reaction: Lugol’s positive, hemiamyloid. Interascal Hyphae: Present. Hypothecium: Brown, white, or brownish yellow.

Asci: Dehiscence unitunicate; exoascus not amyloid, not hemiamyloid.

Ascospores: c. 8 per ascus, clavate, cylindrical, fusiform, or oblong-obtuse, 12-28 µm long, 3-6 µm wide, obtuse or aciculate; septa present; transversally septate, 1-3-transversally septate; wall not thickened at the septum, hyaline or pale brown, in Lugol's Solution negative.

Conidiomata: Absent resp. not observed or present; pycnidial; immersed.

Conidia: Bacilliform.
