Upper Surface: Brownish yellow, olive, or yellow; special structures absent or present:; not pseudocyphellate; eciliate; without hairs; not isidate or isidiate; not sorediate or sorediate; not cephalodiate; not lobulate; without granules granules, without thalloconidia thalloconidia. Lower Surface: Attached by holdfasts; special structures absent.

Reproduction Strategy: Only known as sterile, asexually reproducing form or with sexual (and possible asexual) stages. Ascocarps: Apothecioid, forming all across the thallus surface or directly at the thallus margin, soon sessile. Interascal Hyphae: Present. Hypothecium: Brown.

Asci: Tholus thickened, amyloid, with non-amyloid narrow axial body and amyloid convergent flanks towards apex; dehiscence lecanoralean.

Ascospores: c. 4 to c. 8 per ascus, ellipsoid, oblong, allantoid, curved, or oblong-obtuse, (6)-8-15-(20) µm long, 2.5-5 µm wide; septa present; transversally septate, 1-(3)-transversally septate; wall thin, not thickened at the septum, hyaline, in Lugol's Solution negative, wall not ornamented.

Conidiomata: Absent resp. not observed or present; pycnidial; formed all accross the thallus surface or along the thallus periphery.

Conidia: Bacilliform.

Secondary Metabolites: Present, of the following substance class(es): orcinol depsides, ß-orcinol depsidones, (higher) aliphatic acids, (tri-)terpenoids, and dibenzofurans [and usnic acids].
