Interascal Hyphae: Absent or present, scarcely branched, not or scarcely anastomosed. Hypothecium: Black or brown.

Asci: Tholus thickened, not amyloid; dehiscence bitunicate; exoascus not amyloid, not hemiamyloid.

Ascospores: c. 8 per ascus, broadly ellipsoid, ellipsoid, ovoid, clavate, or oblong, 5.5-23 µm long, 1.5-11.5 µm wide, obtuse or aciculate; septa present; transversally septate, 1-(3)-transversally septate; wall thin or thick, distinctly differentiated into primary and secondary wall, not thickened at the septum, hyaline or pale brown, in Lugol's Solution negative, wall not ornamented.

Conidiomata: Absent resp. not observed or present.

Secondary Metabolites: Not detected.
