Reproduction Strategy: With sexual (and possible asexual) stages. Ascocarps: Apothecioid, becoming adnate, .5-1.5 mm in diam.. Margin: Excluded, distinct. Disk: Excavate to weakly convex, brown or dark brownish red, epruinose or pruinose. Amphithecium (thalline excipulum): Photobiont abundant. Amphithecial Cortex: Present, 40-50 µm wide, 50-60 µm wide at the base. Epithecium: Apical cells slightly swollen. Hymenium: 70 µm high.

Ascospores: Ellipsoid (mostly unilaterally thickened, rarely barbell-shaped; (oblong)), (12)-14-16-(19) µm long, 4-7 µm wide.
