Biogeography: Continent: Africa, Asia-Temperate, Australasia, and Southern America.

Upper Surface: Pale grey or lemon (citrine); special structures absent or present:; not isidate or isidiate; not sorediate or sorediate.

Ascocarps: Not constricted at the base, (.8)-1.5-3.5-(5) mm in diam.. Margin: Prominent. Disk: Plane; black, dark brown, or brown; epruinose. Exciple: Dark brown or brown; inspersed with crystals. Epithecium: Apical cells brown. Hymenium: 150-250 µm high.

Ascospores: c. 8 per ascus, (45)-50-80-(125) µm long, (22)-25-35-(40) µm wide; transversally septate; 1-transversally septate.

Secondary Metabolites: Hopane-6a,22-diol and usnic acid; provisional name(s): 'Megalospora unknown A', 'Megalospora unknown B'(or absent), and 'Megalospora unknown C'.
