Ecology: Biotroph; lichenized; saxicolous.

Thallus: Foliose (small foliose to subcrustose), subdivided into main (lobes becoming cracked and often forming areolae in thallus centre) parts, irregular, lobed (small foliose to subcrustose); lobes elongate (subirregular to linear-elongate); branches applanate (moderately flattened); separate thallus parts.2-.8 mm wide. Thallus Size and Differentiation: 2-4 cm in diameter. Upper Surface: Lime green (and darkening to deep olive-brown or blackish in older lobes), matt; immaculate; isidiate; isidia globular (globose then cylindrical), not ramified or ramified, coralloid; not sorediate. Lower Surface: Present, black; rhizinate (robust); rhizines sparse, black, not branched.

Medulla: White.

Reproduction Strategy: Only known as sterile, asexually reproducing form.

Conidiomata: Absent resp. not observed.

Secondary Metabolites: Present; norlobaridone and usnic acid (other secondary metabolites: scabrosin 4-acetate 4´-butyrate, scabrosin 4-acetate 4´-hexanoate, scabrosin 4,4´dibutyrate), metabolite(s) of unresolved identity: present (unidentified scabrosin (trace)).
