Thallus Outline: Soon disappearing. Upper Surface: Grey (white; The species contains porphyrilic acid.); not isidate.

Ascocarps: Orbicular (and elliptic). Disk: Without an umbo. Epithecium: Apical cells brown or olive (sometimes patchy or scarcely developed). Hypothecium: Reddish brown (mottled) or brownish yellow.

Ascospores: (7)-9.1-11.5-(13) µm long, (4)-4.5-5.1-(6) µm wide; wall hyaline or pale brown (in old apothecia sometimes a few).
