Ecology: Biotroph; lichenicolous; growing on calciferous rock. Host or Phorophyte Taxonomy: Verrucaria? sp.

Thallus: Indistinct.

Reproduction Strategy: With sexual (and possible asexual) stages. Ascocarps: Perithecioid, subglobose (broadly conical), forming inside the thallus or mycelium of the host, soon sessile, moderately abundant (in groups of 25-40 ascomata), 80-150 µm wide, with a pale black surface. Wall: Complete. Margin: Pale black, homogenously pigmented. Exciple: Paraplectenchymatous; pale black. Hymenium: Gelatinized, iodine reaction: Lugol’s negative, not hemiamyloid. Hypothecium: Pale black.

Asci: Obclavate, 27-34 µm long, 9-10 µm wide; ocular chamber present; dehiscence bitunicate; ascoplasm dextrinoid.

Ascospores: c. 4 per ascus, spores 4 per ascus, ellipsoid, 13-14 µm long, 4-5 µm wide, obtuse; septa present, transversally septate, 1-transversally septate; lumina of equal size; wall thin, remaining hyaline, hyaline, not ornamented.

Conidiomata: Absent resp. not observed.
