Thallus: Separate thallus parts thin or thick. Upper Surface: White; plane, rough; pruinose; pruina scarce or abundant; greyish or whitish.

Ascocarps: Soon sessile. Disk: Urceolate. Hymenium: 100-160 µm high.

Ascospores: c. 8 per ascus, ellipsoid, (16)-24-(28) µm long, (6)-10-(16) µm wide; 3-5-transversally septate; 1-2 longitudinal septa per transversal septum; wall middle brown, in Lugol's Solution negative.

Secondary Metabolites: Diploschistesic acid and lecanoric acid; of the following substance class(es): orcinol depsides.
